Unity Platform

Unity Platform:

The Unity Platform is the next generation of pack architecture built on the hard-earned lessons of my previous designs. It carries forward the same load‑bearing philosophy and backcountry reliability, but in a cleaner, more intuitive system that’s faster to set up, easier to adjust, and lighter on your back.

Unity is not a fragile ultralight experiment, nor is it an overbuilt tank. It’s a streamlined, purpose‑driven platform where every line, stitch, and component earns its place. Excess material, redundant hardware, and gimmicks are stripped away; what remains is a refined structure that focuses on load transfer, stability, and field serviceability.

At its core, Unity is a true working tool:

  • Honest load carriage: Built to move real weight over real country, day after day. Light enough though to work in the lightweight and ultralight worlds.
  • Simplified adjustment: Harness and frame tuning that’s straightforward in the field, even with cold hands and fatigue.
  • Reduced complexity: Fewer parts, smarter patterning, and clean interfaces between frame, bag, and accessories.
  • Purposeful durability: Materials and construction chosen to balance longevity, repairability, and weight—no more, no less.

Unity reflects a design approach that’s both engineering‑led and ground‑truth tested: a modern, lightweight pack platform that respects the realities of hard use and the discipline of leaving everything unnecessary behind.

The Unity Platform is a refined load‑carrying system built for real weight, real miles, and real weather. It takes the engineering lessons from earlier designs and distills them into a cleaner, more capable backbone for every pack in the line.

Key features of the Unity Platform:

  • Strong, supportive frame:
A structural frame engineered to handle 80+ lb loads without folding, flexing out, or collapsing under awkward weight.

  • Direct load transfer:
Hipbelt, frame, and harness geometry tuned for very direct load transfer—true to previous designs—so weight rides on the hips, not the shoulders.

  • Premium materials:
High-grade fabrics, foams, and hardware selected for durability, weather resistance, and efficient weight—not show.

  • Adaptable compression system:
A versatile compression layout that stabilizes small loads, locks down big ones, and easily handles odd shapes and meat/gear hauls.

  • Extensible, easy-to-adjust frame height:
Frame height that can be quickly adjusted and extended to match different torsos, load profiles, and carry preferences.

  • Highly water‑resistant / waterproof builds:
Patterning and materials chosen to keep gear protected in sustained wet conditions, with options that push toward fully waterproof performance.

  • Long‑day comfort with real adjustability:
Suspension designed to stay comfortable over long days and big miles, with meaningful adjustment points that let the user truly tune the fit—not just “move straps around.”

Product Roadmap:

Unity Platform – Product Roadmap

All built on the same Unity frame architecture and design language: clean lines, efficient patterning, honest load carriage.

1. Unity Light – 60L
Approx. 2 lb • 60+ lb capable • Ultralight styling

The core Unity pack. A 60-liter, low-profile bag tuned for real load carrying at minimal weight. Clean exterior, restrained pocketing, and fast, intuitive access. Built for long days and lean kits where every ounce matters.

  • Streamlined main bag with just enough organization
  • Minimal external features to reduce weight and snag points
  • Engineered to carry “too much” weight for its class without folding
2. Unity Light Pro – 85L
Expanded capacity • Same ethos, more range

The Light Pro takes the 60L’s aesthetic and structure and scales it for extended trips and bulkier missions. Same stripped-down, purpose-built design—just more room to work with.

  • 85-liter volume for longer carries, winter loads, or mixed roles
  • Retains the clean, ultralight-derived lines and hardware discipline
  • Designed to feel familiar if you know the 60L, just with added range
3. Unity Panel – 60L Panel Loader
Streamlined access • 60L

A panel-loading variant of the Unity concept. For users who need faster, more organized access without sacrificing load-bearing integrity. Layout is simple and logical: open flat, work cleanly, close and go.

  • 60-liter capacity with a full or partial panel opening
  • Interior organization focused on essentials, not clutter
  • Ideal for guides, instructors, or anyone living out of their pack daily
4. Unity Panel Pro – 85L Panel Loader
High-capacity panel system • 85L

The Panel Pro scales the panel concept for big carries and complex loads. Same Unity frame, more room, more layout flexibility.

  • 85-liter volume with panel access for large, layered kit
  • Balanced pocketing and internal structure for managing bulk
  • Suited for expedition, extended guiding, or gear-heavy backcountry work
5. Unity Guide – 110L
Workhorse hauler • Approx. 3 lb • Expanded pocketing

The top of the range and the closest thing to a rolling gear room. Built for guides, outfitters, and trips where you carry not just your kit, but responsibility for others.

  • 110-liter capacity for expedition and guide work
  • More developed pocketing and external storage for on-the-fly organization
  • Around 3 lb, with durability and structure prioritized for repeat abuse
  • Still true to the Unity language: efficient patterning, disciplined hardware, no gimmicks

From Light to Guide, the roadmap keeps a single promise: one coherent platform, scaled and shaped for different missions, without losing the underlying design and engineering philosophy.
